The last several years two of three founding members of Venice Nettuno Lido, Paolo Poggi and Mattia Collauto have visited Canada in the month of July to train our players at our soccer camps.  Both Paolo and Mattia have many years of experience in football.  



Paolo Poggi

Born in 1971,
Forward
and now Sports Director

Paolo Poggi is one of the best-known Venetian footballers of the last 30 years.
Growing up on S.Elena, the island where the famous PL Penzo stadium stands, he was a star of the Venice football team. A symbol of fairness and attachment to the shirt, Paolo played for several Italian football teams, including in Serie A (including Roma) and then returned to Venezia in 2006, where he ended his brilliant career in 2009. after football played, he began his managerial career first at Mantua and Udinese, before returning to Venezia as Head of International Projects.
In 2020/2021 he is the architect, as Head of the Technical Area, of Venezia's return to Serie A after 21 years, covering the same role in the 2021/2022 season in the top Italian championship.


Mattia Collauto

Midfielder
and now Sports Director

Born in Giudecchino, Mattia Collauto began his football career in the youth teams of Turin and then in Como, where he played for 6 seasons. Subsequently he played for Cremonese for 2 years and subsequently at Bari for five years (including 2 Serie A championships as a protagonist).
In 2004 he finally moved to Venezia, his hometown team, where he immediately earned the captain's armband thanks to his appearances and loyalty certificates, becoming a city symbol and undisputed point of reference, especially in the darkest moments of the club's history. , which failed 3 times in the space of 8 years.
In 2012 he finished playing football and became the Director of the Club's Youth Sector.
In 2020/2021 he was the architect, as Sports Director, of Venezia's return to Serie A after 21 years, holding the same position in the 2021/2022 season in top Italian championship.


Nicola Marangon

Nicola is another important part of the Venezia football team. Defender and lateral midfielder, he spent most of his career at Venezia, with whom he earned promotion to Serie A in 1999. Esteemed for his runs on the wing, he has always been loved by the city and the fans for his serious, clean and professional ways, for never going out of line.
At the end of his career he dedicated himself to the study of Training Methodology and Training of young footballers, becoming a highly appreciated reference in the area, alongside Mattia Collauto in the Venezia Youth Sector for many years, as a Technician of the various national categories and Coordinator of the coaches of the orange-black-green youth team.
