Clarkson SC is, and always has been, a volunteer driven community organization.  We need your help!!  Please indicate on your registration form your willingness to help with convening, coaching, or special events.

  • Each division requires a convener
  • All conveners will be supported and work directly with the convener of house league
  • Each team requires one head coach and one assistant coach
  • All coaches will be supported with pre-season coaching and development sessions

Please state during the registration process if you would like to volunteer. Complete the volunteer section.

If you have further questions about the coaching experience, please reach out to Lisa at houseleaguedirector@clarksonsoccerclub.com . of you might know, I started as an assistant coach, moved into head coach, and followed by convener. Volunteering is a special way to give back to your community with the added bonus of spending extra time with your child.

If you are the parent registering the child(ren) but are NOT the parent volunteering to coach, do not fill out the volunteer application. The parent volunteering will need to log into their own account to fill out the application.

SPONSORSHIP:

We welcome sponsorship from our community.  Please consider supporting a team, a division or an event with the club.  Please email Ld.manager@clarksonsoccerclub.com

Teams available to sponsor are U8 and up.  U4 to U7 sponsored by TimBits Soccer

FRIEND "REQUEST":

Clarkson's philosophy is for players to make new friends from season to season, have new experiences and to have fair balanced teams so they have a season of fun.  Having fair balanced teams is paramount and friend requests make this difficult.  While, every effort will be made to accommodate such requests, the integrity and balance of the division will always be paramount therefore we cannot accommodate all "requests".

Your child may submit ONLY ONE friend as a REQUEST to play with on the same team and that one request must be RECIPROCATED. To make this request, ensure the ONE NAME is entered in the note section during the registration process (only the name should be entered, no other info to be added as it will be deleted). Friend requests WILL NOT be considered after the registration process has been completed for your child. The player you are requesting must follow the same procedure for the request to be considered.

Deadline to request a friend is April 1st, 2024 and specific coach requests are not permitted.  Friend "requests" will be confirmed at the time of team formation and no refunds will be given if a friend request can not be honoured.

EQUIPMENT:

All players receive a full uniform and a ball.  Uniform being a jersey, a pair of shorts and a pair of socks.  Players are responsible for shin pads that are mandatory for all age groups and appropriate footwear.

IMPORTANT

DIVISIONS, COHORTS, and PROGRAMMING LISTED BELOW:

We reserve the right to combine or divide any division, age groups, or change formats and/or programming based on registration numbers, provincial restrictions, or field availability. While every attempt will be made to preserve proposed divisions and formats, circumstances may dictate otherwise.  We DO NOT entertain coach requests.

NIGHTS OF PLAY LISTED BELOW:

While all efforts will be made to maintain proposed nights of play/practice, we reserve the right to change said nights where circumstances require.

U8 and up, have one practice session separate from their game nights (proposed game nights listed below).  Practices are scheduled as per the coach availability (no weekends). So this night is not available to you until you have your coach assigned in mid May.

Unfortunately, house league registrations dip as the players hit high school age, because of this it is hard to run a full division for some ages and divisions.  Last summer, in an effort to keep the low number of players that want to play soccer still involved, we ran a pilot program which was a big success and we will do that again.

Formal teams will not be defined, rather each week we will divide the players up on game night and have the most competitive game possible.  They will also have a practice night that is TBA.  Please see the divisions below that will follow this concept.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

"In regards Clarkson SC's policy on inclement weather, please read the  Ontario Soccer Association's current policy regarding thunder and lightning. Notwithstanding the extremities covered in the CSA NOTICE (Adobe document on the right), Clarkson SC has always maintained a policy that soccer is an all weather sport played in a variety of conditions. Our season is short, weekday facilities are limited, so the rescheduling of games is impossible. Formal exceptions to this policy would include the closure of fields by the city, or the determination by a match official that field conditions rendered play impossible or dangerous. In divisions with match officials, the determination is made just prior to game time, in discussion between coaches and the match official. In the U/4-U/6 divisions, there are no referees, so coaches stand in lieu of a formal game official. In situations of heavy persistent rain, or extreme temperature, or any other special circumstances, coaches are empowered to make a decision to cancel ,in consultation with parents and fellow coaches."
